While I sympathise with the plight of an increasingly irrelevant and out-of-the-loop old hack, he should try aging with a modicum of dignity and not descend to lowest, most artless form of link-baiting.

It’s a joke, guys. Lighten up. I know everyone expects juicy leaked Apple information from everybody and their brother on the Interweb, but commenters on this ‘article’ take it a bit far.
I think the clues were the number of outlandish features and the fact that it’s written in AOL-speak. Oh yeah, also the fact that Cringely never gets accurate leaked Apple information on future product plans.
This is what so many of us want. If pricing is anywhere near that of the apple product their pad won’t stand a chance at gaining anything but marginal market share. Which, to be fair, is something they’re fairly used to anyway.
